Falling Back in Love with Your Partner

By Amy Leo

Mindful momentum of daily action, this is what focus creates.

Momentum is a way to describe the strength gained by motion and/or a series of events (ie. actions) (1). What does this have to do with living an inspiring life? With supporting you in falling back in love with your partner?

Love Momentum Bird Delivering LoveMomentum is something we can harness in our daily lives because we are, of course, physical matter (2). The laws of energy apply to us too. We are energy in motion and our emotions speak to this truth (3). We can nurture ourselves and our relationships by staying in motion, ie. continually working towards our personal and relationship goals through harnessing the intention of focus.

We tend to think of focus as an important component of our professional lives and creative pursuits, but it can also be utilized to keep the magic alive in our relationships. Whether we give our undivided attention to the special person in our lives or to a personal project, the effect is the same:

Massive results.

Focus harnesses our strengths and innate resources and subsequently puts to work the power of our subconscious minds. Seemingly overnight, new ideas and inspirations that may bring us closer to our partner, instead of further away, will begin to emerge. Ideas that are so simple, but up until this point, we’ve somehow missed.

“When you focus on problems you will have more problems. When you focus on possibilities you’ll have more opportunities.” — Zig Ziglar

Here is one simple, common sense tip that actually isn’t put into practice all too often.

Focus on the positive aspects of your partner.

Things you Love about your partnerSeriously. The recipe for sustainable love can be that simple. A return to love and warm, fuzzy feelings for your partner never starts with them doing or not doing something. It starts inside of you. Everything we experience stems from our own beliefs. It starts with you letting them off a hook a little bit here. No human being is perfect. If you are caught up in the past, you aren’t living in a relevant or current reality and are missing opportunities to re-establish a connection with your loved one.

If you know your partner is the one for you, but you have been experiencing some worries about the relationship lately, refocus your mind. This will realign your heart.

Focus on the positive. I know you’ve heard this a thousand times, but the power and results that come from focusing in this way are real! You can’t control all the circumstances you come across in your life, you can’t control the actions of your partner. (And do you really want him or her to always agree with you on everything anyways? Isn’t that kind of like trying to date…well, yourself? I know this mentality is common, but you have to admit this self-righteousness tendency of human beings is a little weird, isn’t it?)

Anyways…back to the power provided by focus.

What you can do is choose. You can choose to harness your natural power of focus in a way that uplifts you, your relationships, and your life in general. (4)

Write down all of your partner’s attributes: you know the reason why you fell in love with them in the first place! Every relationship bumps up against some friction from time to time. Don’t allow your mind to harp on negative and insecure thoughts. Remember that your partner is not your enemy, no matter how convincing your ego is in trying to persuade you of this. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side. No one is perfect. Period.

“The only path by which another person can upset you is through your own thought.”

Joseph Murphy, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind

Call to action:

Love Momentum NestTake 5 minutes. Just 5 minutes. Set a reminder alarm on your phone to go off once a day for at least one week (three weeks would be better!) and recall what are you grateful for in your partner. Write your gratitude down and tuck them away in a safe space. Maybe even dare to tell your partner that you are grateful for them in the first place and some of the reasons why. Positive reinforcement is incredibly powerful in harnessing good vibes.

This is a small step that can create a huge ripple effect of reconnection, trust, and good vibes.

To see even better results we’d recommend signing up for our 30 Days of Love Challenge. It’s an inward journey designed to give you clarity on what has limited you from holding more love for yourself and experiencing deeper love with others. You’ll be amazed at what you can do in 30 days with just 5 – 10 minutes a day!
