I am trying to first notice and then start limiting the amount of time I spend on Facebook. When I purposely do not use technology I notice that I have time for reading at home.
I got so much more done at work when I put my phone away for the entire day. I even went to Gym without phone ( which means, without music). Thought I wouldnโt finish my 15 min jog, but it actually went by faster. Maybe I was so engaged in the thoughts in my head. Iโm willing to try this every now and then.
Oddly, I’ve been leaving my smart phone behind. I do think about what if I get stuck. The car I have now does not have it’s own phone it in for emergencies. Yet, I read, or I write, clean the house, I keep busy without my phone, but the best part of leaving it is relaxing and not waiting for it to go off.
Without the net and devices I read books, did more crafts, spent more time with friends and family.
I’m learning to put my devices away and focus more on the real world and those i care about most.
my laptop screen broke and to repair would cost double the price of what we paid for it and ever since i got a library card and took out books. ๐ im big on teen fiction and graphic novels. heck found a book based on the show Once Upon a Time called Regina’s Rising. such a good book! based on Regina when she was young! books were my solitude when i was young. i missed it.
I like reading books. I could read a book on my iPad or listen to an audio book, but I rather like the feel of a book. I like reading over parts that I really enjoy, turning pages, and sometimes, although not often, I might mark/highlight sentences. And then I like having that book in my library, especially if I really liked it. And I like collecting and reading books from an author that I really like as well.

I can relate Lynn, I cannot read on a device. Love a real book?
