Today, show your gratitude by recognizing what a gift each of your senses are: sight, smell, touch, taste, and smell.

Our senses are life's gift that is taken for granted the most. Our vision, hearing, ability to smell, touch and taste are so precious that many of us, if given a choice, wouldn’t sell them even if offered millions. Life without sensing is rather difficult. That is why sensory deprivation is the worst punishment one can experience. In the complete absence of stimulation, our brain does its best to increase stimuli on its own. We start hallucinating, ending up frightened and desperate. For that reason, today is the day to celebrate your senses.

To understand the grace of your senses, take a moment to check out this short video showing people hearing sound for the first time in their life. Youtube offers a variety of videos of this kind, so if you have time browse a little and discover the joy of people seeing color or their loved ones for the first time in their life.

Isn’t it incredibly valuable that you can sense the richness of the world with almost no effort? We challenge you to celebrate this wonderful ability today by indulging in small pleasures to honor your greatest gifts—all guilt free.

Intentionally eat your favorite food, spray a tiny bit extra perfume on your clothes, book a full body massage (or ask a loved one to give you one), listen to your favorite song and look at this beautiful day with senses wide open. Act as if you are a newborn looking at the world with new eyes.
