  1. For me, it comes up when I want to make a drawing or a painting or a comic. It seems that I’m far away from what I should be, even though I am just at the beginning of my trajectory in this respect. I would probably need to be more patient with myself and stop comparing my 2 hours of work with someone with 2 years or more of consistent work and experience in the same field.

  2. I think most people always want more so the feeling of not enough comes into play when you got what you originally wanted but still aren’t happy. Then you look at your neighbor and they have something you don’t and they look happy and it makes you envious or jealous. It makes you think that if you have what they have that you would be happier. I don’t remember being reassured if I didn’t know how to read, write, add, subtract etc. I was taught that I needed to learn something so I could be successful and happy. Is it really social media that makes us worse or is it just our society and culture in general that enable and teach us to think we’re not good enough?

  3. I think that when you feel like you’re not enough, you look for someone that has the qualities you believe would make a person “enough”. When you find someone who is “better” than you and has what you think you need, you envy them and try to strive for what they have or just hate on them. I think all that truly happened is your brain searched outside of yourself for justification of your insecurities.

  4. The idea that things are in limited supply and if you don’t feel you have it, you think that your neighbor must have these traits that you wish you had (beauty, money, love etc..) and you end up wanting to be them.
