Day 24 – FORGIVING

Forgiveness frees us from the past so that we can completely enjoy the present. Today, we release the weight of past burdens to allow more space for a mindful, peaceful, and happy life.

  1. In the past, I held on to negativity more than anything else. It didn’t matter if my day or week was going great, as soon as one bad thing happened I would focus on that. I carry so much resentment, and anger towards myself and those who wronged me. I lost a relationship partially because of my inability to forgive and let go. Going forward I want to let go of all resentment. I don’t want to live that way anymore. In the past 6 weeks I’ve been more mindful than ever and within that short time, letting go has open space in my mind. I’ve become more creative and focused. I want to build on that. I want to stop being consumed by hatred and instead forgive, and love.

  2. I would say it’s hurt that I hold onto more than forgiveness. When I went through this meditation this am though, the thing that helped was surrounding them in love and compassion. Not thinking about it from my perspective, but from theirs. It actually lifted quite a bit for more me, as I hadn’t realised I was still holding onto some resentment.

  3. I do not harbor any ill-will toward anyone. I have already forgiven others, and I have forgiven myself. I have spent a great deal of time meditating and practicing forgiveness, and truly believe I have a clean slate in my heart. I am very thankful and grateful for being at peace.

  4. After a man rear-ended my car and caused many problems for my sister, I have had trouble forgiving the man. I still feel anger and resentment for what he did. Today, I can reassure myself that the trial my sister is going through because of the accident is meant to happen. Even though it is painful, it has been perfectly timed and we will come out of this situation stronger and better than ever.
