PROGRESS 🚀 The Next Best Step

Let go of the pressure to be perfect and embrace the challenges that will empower your next best step.

Day 17 of 30 Days of Bravery

Intention
👁 INTENTION

Today, let’s explore being a never-ending work in progress so that we can let go of the pressure to be perfect and embrace the challenges as we simply take our next best step toward our brave goals.

Let’s redefine progress, not as a destination but as the journey itself. Imagine the liberation in viewing every stumble as a step, each setback as a lesson, and realizing that in the realm of personal growth, “perfect” is simply the courage to continue. Today is about harnessing that courage, embracing every part of our evolving story, and taking action, no matter how small, toward the masterpiece that is you.

PROGRESS 🚀 The Next Best Step

With focused intention, let us progress.
as we embrace challenges and stay curious.
We take the next best step towards our goals,
releasing perfection, letting life unfold.

With inspired action, we’ll soar to great heights.
With each small step, we’ll enjoy expansive flights.
As setbacks come, they offer the gift of resilience.
May we move on with courageous persistence.

Science
🧬 SCIENCE

According to NASA, The Space Shuttle requires an astonishing 26.6 billion watts of power for lift-off, equivalent to the output of 13 Hoover Dams. Yet, once in flight, it can sustain itself on as little as 10% of that initial energy.

I am progressing

This parallels our own efforts toward progress: the initial steps towards our goals might require significant energy, but as we build momentum, we find that sustaining progress becomes more effortless. This teaches us the power of momentum in our lives and the importance of taking that first, often daunting, step.

Courage
🙏 MICRO ACT OF BRAVERY

Let’s make progress towards our brave intentions by committing to a small action step that will move us closer to our goal.

This can be something as simple as making a phone call, sending an email, or doing a quick online search for information related to the goal.

Taking this small action can help overcome the inertia that often comes with a new project or pursuing a new goal. By taking even the smallest step forward, we can build momentum and feel a sense of accomplishment, which will motivate further action toward our courageous goals.

  1. I am working on a final paper and just yesterday I was really feel discouraged because basically the textbook that we used in the course totally sucked. I am having to write about terms that were not fully explained in the book. Today I am just going to forge ahead and try my best, no matter what grade I get on the thing. It is better to be done than perfect. This is something I struggle with being a lifelong perfectionist.

  2. As part of my bravery initiative I scheduled a small solo art show For six weeks from now I set a goal to work every day in the studio. Took a break today went out to the pool and got stung repeatedly in the face by a wasp now I am a physical and emotional wreck

  3. I fell back into some bad habits over the weekend and felt like I had undone everything good I had achieved over my recent cleanse and that I couldn’t reach out to people about my health business because of it. Today I woke up and realized that I’m human, I had bad habits for a really long time and it takes time to break them forever so today I’m back on point and going to not fall into those habits again today

  4. When I was in high school, I had an Algebra teacher who hated my guts. That statement isn’t just me being paranoid; I heard from other students who had the same teacher say that they would get worse grades than their peers who turned in the exact same work as they did and the teacher could provide no good reason when questioned. That teacher used to make me feel small and helpless. Since then, I’ve taken it to heart that no one, no matter how much power they have over me, will ever step on me again. I know how bad it feels to have someone else be in charge of how much progress you can make towards your goals and I will never let anyone keep me from getting what I deserve again.

  5. I was flat out handling issues with a high risk and impact in the organisation as much as I was progressing new issues and initiatives would come up where I was expected to lead. One day I collapsed of stress and a peer told me: it doesn’t matter how critical it is you need to let your team handle without you. I felt irresponsible, but stepped out and said my team would manage it by themselves. All worked well and my collaboration with my team improved significantly.

    • I have to say I didn’t even want to open the course today as I was ashamed: I felt so different from since I started and have received praise for my attitude since. Today I woke up sad and grumpy and still cannot figure out where this is coming from. I simply cannot pick myself back up (yet). I was so relieved when I decided I simply had to check the course and saw what the theme was about!

  6. I’ve always been scared of asking people to do things and make plans. I’m too scared they will say no but I’m
Doing it a lot more and talking to
A lot more people which normally terrifies me but it’s getting easier and easier

  7. A recent moment that have left me feeling scared and discouraged? Well I have two areas that I have also recently blogged about. My employment situation and my love life. With both, I have a pretty good idea of what I want, however the actual physical reality of them (my next job and relationship) are not quite as clear which can cause me anxiety, grief and doubt. But, I recognize that I am causing this. When I’m caught in a headspace of thinking about what I think I lack, I do what I can to change it. I focus on what I’m grateful for and work on giving up control on what it all looks like and when it will all come to fruition. I work on getting clear on what I want, and just trusting that it will all come to be, as it’s meant to. It’s not quite as easy to authentically get to the space where I surrender, give up control and just trust, but it’s a huge area of growth for me and something I had never really done in the past. The old Maria would have just continued to be stressed and not recognized that there are steps I can take to actively reduce this and shift my thinking.

  8. I’ve been struggling a lot this month with financial situations. My partner quit his job and my online business suddenly stopped getting orders, and meanwhile I’ve been trying to figure myself out and get my other artistic endeavors going, but the fear and worry has been very strong and real. I’ve never felt so low and lacking… but it’s made me realize that fear is just that, and it’s kicked my butt into gear to get things going I had never considered before, or to throw myself out there despite the fear of embarrassment. I’m also beginning to realize that security and comfort can’t be the forefront of my thoughts. I need to feel good and determined even in the chaotic circumstances, even with no assurances I have to have faith, and all of that is starting to make sense to me now.

  9. As I have been diagnosed with a lifelong non-malignant cancerous disease, it has made me more brave to do what I know to be best for me and my future. I do not know what might happe to my body in the future, since the only way to treat the disease is to cut out the tumors as they grow…and the surgeons might need to take out organs in the future as well. If that happens, my lifestyle may change drastically. So i am taking the present to live in the present and to make the most of my opportunities to be my very best now. To fulfill my dreams now. To take risks now. I think you get the point. I have not allowed the disease to slow me down…in fact, it has brought me renewed vigor and vision for my life.

  10. In mornings (especially monday morning ) thinking about going to office was really difficult for me. But today I am feeling like to go to office on time without any stress.
