🦁 Day 9 of 30 Days of Bravery

👁 INTENTION
Today, let’s feel what it’s like to be fiercely alive and aligned with our brave intentions by compassionately embracing our vulnerable “imperfections”.

💬 QUOTE

To share your weakness is to make yourself vulnerable; to make yourself vulnerable is to show your strength.
– Criss Jami

🪄 AFFIRMATION
I am vulnerable because although my insecurities are at the core of what I fear, these vulnerabilities are the birthplace of my joy, creativity, and love. So I will compassionately embrace my imperfections because feeling so fiercely vulnerable means I am alive. I will let myself be deeply seen and share myself wholeheartedly even though there are no guarantees that things will work out.

📜 POEM

Let us embrace our imperfections,
our vulnerabilities and our fears.
For it is through our weaknesses,
that our strength and courage appear.
To share our weakness is to be brave,
to presence the darkness with our light.
For it is through our vulnerability,
that we can live life with all our might.

🧘 MEDITATION
In this guided meditation, Gia helps us tap into the most vulnerable place within us and create a safe space there. We’ll learn to allow ourselves to feel and express from the heart so that we can be vulnerable and authentic.

📿 MANTRA
share yourself wholeheartedly
पूर्णतया स्वं साझां कुर्वन्तु

🦁 MICRO ACT OF BRAVERY
Today, be courageously vulnerable by sharing a weakness with a close friend you trust.
Notice how this vulnerability is nurtured and feels less endangered when presenced in a supportive space.

📓 JOURNAL PROMPT
Journal in hand, get some perspective on how the fear of rejection has been limiting you.

🙌 KUDOS
Nice work! You’ve just completed Day 9 of 30 Days of Bravery 🙌
One of the most vulnerable things we can do is share what is real for us with others. Fortunately, you’re in a safe, non-judgmental, supportive place to do that.
So be brave and go ahead and share what’s going on in your life that today’s session inspired in the community Activity Feed.

It kept me from meeting new people, just being afraid of that rejection. But i’m working hard on it and hopefully it will soon be better
It has kept me from approaching my supervisors when I have a very good idea or program to propose. I have the willingness to stand up for what I believe will help my constituents now, and if I fail to win the approval of my supervisor, I will fail forward. It takes a lot of “No”s sometimes before you get a “Yes.” Resilience and grit are the keys for me to be empowered, even while I bare my soul and am vulnerable at the same time. Rejection and failure make me stronger, because I can learn from such times…and grow more in my faith in myself through determination to succeed, no matter what obstacles lie before me.
like the phrase “I WILL FAIL FORWARD” good affirmation
Accepting and embracing my vulnerability has been something I have battled forever. For years (pretty much for as long as I can remember), I just didn’t do it. I was so scared of being hurt that I would never actually show up. I wouldn’t even really let myself really feel what I was feeling, nor was I was remotely close to letting anyone else in. I closed myself off to life pretty much, but I didn’t even realise I was doing it. Tied specifically to the fear of rejection? Well, it’s scary. Putting your heart there, allowing yourself to work and process your fears and insecurities, showing up and allowing someone to see your soul, the core of who you are is terrifying. However, it is also so freeing at the same time. The fear of rejection has been limiting me, because by “not doing vulnerable” and not truly expressing me, I was cutting myself off from so many magical and powerful and amazing things. Of course the fear is still there, but I recognize it now and do what I can to open my heart and work through it.
I’m in love with a girl for 8 years now, and I have always feared rejection from her. I finally got a date with her last year and she rejected me because I was too scared and not confident enough.
It’s been limiting me putting my art and writing out there, and it’s been holding me back from even the simplest tasks like calling doctor’s offices and places to make appointments, etc. It’s really gotten bad at times. There’s a lot of social anxiety involved. I don’t have the connections I should have and I’m not making the money I should be because of that fear.
Mostly through the fear that I will not live up to my mother’s expectations. If I don’t meet them, I fear she will reject me. This carries over to authority figures of any kind, especially in the workplace. I have often feared talking with my supervisors (and sometimes colleagues) because I fear that they will shun me or tune me out.
However, as I have matured, I realize that my supervisors generally would rather I confront them with confidence instead of hide from them out of fear.
My success in my career has been crippled by my fear of rejection. Whenever I am given the opportunity to move up, I reject it because I feel people will see that I am really not good at my job or that I am socially inadequate. I let my mistakes haunt me forever, when I should be learning from them and letting them go.
I always have a fear that if I do the things in a proper way (the way which I wanted) I will loose love of people. Especially my husband. I feel that I may no longer me lovable, caring, or funny. That will prevent me doing something. Even if I do something I feel guilty/arrogant.
But thats not true. If I do something , that will give me confidence and peace of mind. In that way I will be good personally as well. My husband will understand and will be more helpful in that way.
I never ever go for the things I want with my whole heart as I have a massive fear of rejection. I stop myself both personally and professionally because it has been so much easier to hide away than it is to put myself out there. I constantly ask what if it doesnt happen.. what if I am too fat or not enough or what if i fail??? Instead I just need to ask myself …. but what if it all goes right?? And if it doesnt then that is ok too!
Fear of rejection has been limiting me to fully and freely and joyfully express what is within me (as in singing and creativity, voice, feelings and words) and to fully be present. Fearing that others might not like what is deeply inside deprives them of really seeing who I am and really being with ME and it deprives me of authentically being me, exploring who that is and enjoying who that is. I change this hereby.
