Today, let's release that thing that has been getting in the way of a better version of ourselves.

  1. Two days ago I had a tight schedule and the last scheduled item was working out. Normally I workout in the morning but I could not due to a very early meeting. The day was good and intense and as I was driving home to change clothes the ‘devil on my shoulder’ started in with the reasons I could just skip the fitness class. I focused on the schedule and told myself working out was next and it was 45 minutes-I can do it and then I’ll be done and feel great! Then the devil told me I was tired and I voiced this to my husband. The day before I shared my full day with humans asked him to encourage me to keep my commitments—he did this which was annoying but very helpful. I kept moving forward—changed clothes, grabbed water, and made it to class! It was hard and great. So glad I did it!

  2. A good life. My aspiration. I want to change everything that is in my power to the better .
Hereby I commit to stay awake after having finished my morning ritual. Only in the evening or very special purposes (Lucid dreaming practices, polyrithmic sleeping .. ) will I go to bed and sleep again. THis is my pledge of honour for (at least) the duration of this course.

  3. I have never had a lot of willpower but about 12 years ago I was able to lose 25 pounds on a diet. I did not really have any external supports but my inner yearning was to look better and feel healthier. I also thought it would help me find A boyfriend. Sadly, that did not come to pass, but I did lose the weight had kept it off for about 4 years before it slowly crept back on. At this point I weigh more than I did when I started that diet. I am trying to motivate to exercise more and eat healthier but it is hard to do.

  4. The last time I Felt motivated to do
Something I didn’t feel like doing but I knew I had to was report something that happened to
Me , it was the hardest time of my life but it also showed me who I can count on and the inner strength I really have if I look inside me .
The inner yearnings and external supports that inspire me etc is my faith , that inner voice that tells me to follow a particular path or write that book , it makes me realise I have to push past my inner beliefs that limit me , for that reason i am giving up on the beliefs that stop me eg I will not say I haven’t time to do do something or I ain’t capable.

  5. I heard today that fear is evidence of momentum moving in opposition to what I want/my intentions. It’s resistance. I found that really helpful. When I think about times that I haven’t felt like doing something its usually because I’m resitant or fearful. The inner-yearnings and external suports that inspire me? There are tons, but mainly its knowing that if I push myself, if I just trust/breathe/leap/whatever, I will feel so much better than the fear or doubt that I might be in during the current moment… even if the outcome is completely different than I what I originally thought. What inspires me to continue moving is knowing the growth that will come as a result of it.. whatever it might be.

Also – the thing I am letting go of for this course? My expectations/not taking things personally. Thats a really tough one for me, and one I’m going to work at in baby steps. BUT. I only set myself up when I have them, so just loving, trusting and being is what I’m aiming for.

  6. For me, I have to many habits to mention but the one or two habits that come to mind are staying up to late and complaining just about things in general. I am going to focus on doing my daily intentions in the morning so I am not up so late, and instead of complaint about little things I will say something positive in place of my complaint.
One of the things I motivated myself on was becoming a vegetarian. I feel anything living and breathing has a spirit and a soul. I also feel that things living and breathing can feel. An animal would hurt if it’s Killed or slaughtered. I don’t want any part of causing pain to anyone or anything for my own selfish gain. Like eating a steak. ( I know, I’m weird.)
I started feeling this way when I watched a video on meat.org. I watched video and woke up the next morning and never ate meat again. That was 7 years ago. It was easy to stop. It’s almost like a God removed the desire, need, and want to consume meat.
