In our 5-minute meditation today, (starting at 5:00 in the video above), we appreciate our body for its resilience and healing abilities as we send gratitude messages through our breath and savor the feelings of appreciation. The meditation culminates in respecting our body as a sacred vessel in this world—the only one we've got!

Research indicates that gratitude triggers our brain's reward pathways, leading to the production of dopamine and serotonin, chemicals associated with feeling good. This stimulation is similar to what we experience when eating food, suggesting that practicing gratitude can produce comparable physical and emotional responses. So in the absence of the stimulation food gives us, we can feast on gratitude to receive some of the same feel-good satisfaction! How cool is that!?
