When we open our hearts to others, we blossom. Laughter, shared stories, and deep bonds strengthen us from within. In Nicoya, Costa Rica, centenarians flourish by living communally, where family bonds and neighborly visits are the lifeblood that sustains their health and happiness.

Ready to dive into the magic of connection and feel the soul-deep warmth of communal living?

💬 QUOTE

“The deepest level of communication is not communication, but communion. It is wordless. It is beyond words. It is beyond speech. It is beyond concept. Not that we discover a new unity, but we discover an old unity. My dear brothers and sisters, we are already one. But we imagine we are not. And what we have to recover is our original unity. What we have to be, is what we are.”

– Thomas Merton, a Trappist monk, writer, theologian, mystic, and poet known for his deep reflections on spirituality and human connection.

Science
🧬 SCIENCE

Research shows a lack of social connection is more detrimental to health than obesity, smoking, and high blood pressure. Social connection strengthens our immune system, helps us recover from disease faster, and may even lengthen our life.

A study of over 270,000 people in nearly 100 countries found that both family and friend relationships were associated with better health and happiness overall.

  1. As a comfort eater and someone who spends much of my life focused on food, I do have people around for a meal, or do meet up with others for a meal, however we try to do things together without eating more often than not just to take the focus off food x I hate when life is chaotic and we don’t have time to commune with others. I’m agoraphobic but only due to events in my life, I’ve otherwise always been a people person and miss connections when I inevitably cut myself off to sulk. This is definitely an important lesson to me x Thank you! 🙂
