🌎 BLUE ZONE INSPIRATION
Water from the Blue Zone of Nicoya has the country’s highest calcium and magnesium content, with a higher-than-average pH balance. This unique composition might explain why Nicoya’s residents have lower rates of heart disease, stronger bones, and fewer hip fractures. Drinking water with such beneficial minerals can significantly impact our health and longevity.

After saturating Costa Rica’s old-growth forests, rainfall seeps through layers of porous volcanic rock that filters and mineralizes the water. It finally collects in an aquifer over 100 feet below the rainforest.

💬 QUOTE
“Water, the Hub of Life. Water is its mater and matrix, mother and medium. Water is the most extraordinary substance! Practically all its properties are anomalous, which enabled life to use it as building material for its machinery. Life is water dancing to the tune of solids.”
– Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, a Nobel Prize-winning physiologist, discovered vitamin C and the components and reactions of the citric acid cycle, also known as the Krebs cycle.

🧬 SCIENCE
Mild dehydration (fluid loss of just 1-3%) can impair energy levels, mood, memory, and brain performance.
So, how much water should you drink?
Studies suggest drinking at least half your body weight in ounces of water each day, plus 12 ounces of water for every 30 minutes of physical activity.

While the calculator provides a useful guideline, it should be used as a general estimation rather than a precise measurement. Personal hydration needs can vary widely based on individual circumstances.
Pro tip: If you haven’t already, commit to a long-term relationship with a reusable water bottle. Choose a bottle you can envision yourself using even when you’re 100 years old. Keep it filled up and close by as often as possible.

Adding electrolytes to my water has been a game-changer because, TADA, it’s yummy! It’s been over a year since I’ve been adding electrolyte powder and/or lemon/lime and it’s not getting old. Its the first thing I want to guzzle in the morning, after dance, here and there … Now it’s just a matter of always keeping my precious water vessel filled up and within reach 🙂
In order for me to drink water a lot I need to add flavor to it. So I buy the sugar free powders to mix with my water. I also love to drink coconut water. Other than that I am not much of a water drinker, no matter how hard I try. I can drink diet mountan dew all day long and I tell my doctor and my husband that is my water. They disagree with me, and its ok. I know better. I need to drink water especially where I live. In the mountains because of the altitude I think it makes things dryer. I can feel it, and see it in my skin that I am not hydrated enough.
I will commit to myself to get a bottle I can use till I am 100 years old for water. I will carry this bottle with me where ever I go so I can stay hydrated. 💦💧
Drinking enough – done. BUT what I could certainly improve is not only drinking water, but some good tea as well. I’m DEFINITELY not a tea person, but I was just instructed by my GI to drink peppermint and lemongrass tea as a complementary treatment and weeeeell.. that’s gonna be a challenge 😀
I recently invested in a sodastream (which allows you to create your own sparkling water). So I can make a point to go through at least one bottle of it per day. Since I’ve started working from home my water intact has gone down – so I definitely do need to pay attention to it.
I am someone who carries my water bottle around with me all the time. The one thing that used to prevent me from drinking water was when I was a teacher and I could only go to the bathroom at certain times like lunch and recess.
