π₯ MATT’S BLUE ZONE VLOG
Join Matt as we focus on the power of intention to guide our actions and behaviors by asking our deepest self, “What do I want?“

π TODAY’S INTENTION
Today, let’s break the illusion of dependence through the power of focused intention.
When we align our intentions with our actions, we unlock the potential to shape our reality. Our intentions guide our energy, directing it towards meaningful outcomes. By being intentional, we conserve energy and orchestrate the reality of our dreams. Intentions influence our behavior, shaping our actions and the environment around us. Let’s harness this power to create the results we desire.
Ready to set powerful intentions and watch your reality transform?

π BLUE ZONE INSPIRATION
In Blue Zones, people live longer and healthier lives by being intentional about their daily habits. They focus on activities that bring joy, purpose, and connection. By setting clear intentions, they cultivate environments that support their well-being and foster a sense of community and purpose.

Elders in Ikaria, Greece, press grapes with focused intention, embracing the island’s tradition and communal spirit to create a healthy, purposeful life.

π¬ QUOTE
βAs soon as we control where awareness goes, we control where energy flows. As soon as we control where energy is flowing, we control what is manifesting in our life. And meditation is the art and science of directing awareness.β
βΒ Dandapani, a Hindu priest, entrepreneur, and former monk who teaches the principles of self-mastery and intentional living.

𧬠SCIENCE
Behavior is guided by intentions.
Studies show that attitudes, social pressure, environments, and perceived behavioral control significantly influence the creation and progress of intentions.
Research also reveals that our past behaviors often shape our future actions, with well-practiced behaviors becoming automatic over time.

π§ HEALTHY HABIT
Throughout the day, repeatedly ask yourself,
“What do I want?”
Let this question guide your thoughts and actions, aligning them with your goals.
βWhat do I want?β
Visualize your intended outcomes and take steps, however small, to move towards them.
βWhat do I want?β
This begins to waken the power of your intention and sets in motion more thoughts and actions that lead towards the healthy fulfilment.
βWhat do I want?β
Try getting out of your head and out of your own way. Hold this question lightly, yet sincerely, in you heart.
βWhat do I want?β
Live with this question. Move with this question throughout the day. Write it somewhere where you will see it often.
βWhat do I want?β
The answers might come to you as opportunities, experiences, events, relationships, insights, or even imagination. All of which, make up the intentions that contribute to our life compass.
βWhat do I want?β
Life unfolds from the tip of intention.

The hard part for me is sticking with my intentions. Many times they are like flights of fancy for me. I have the intention to lose weight and get healthy, but this will also take a lot of work on my part. Intention is not enough sometimes.
I am feeling far more confident that I can accomplish not only my health goal, but also in other ways.
Only going forward – untold laughter and Joy
I was fortunate to work at a career that I was passionate about for many years. After retiring, I think I was looking for another activity to fill my time that I could pour that same passion into. Now I realize that I am a passionate person and that I can direct that same passion to whatever I am doing. Seems simple but it was a big aha moment for me.
Long ago, as a very shy recent university graduate, I nervously began the quest for a career path that would be fulfilling. I knew I’d bungle teaching, so had no training for it. Instead, I spent many months applying for other starter positions. Nothing seemed a good fit. My desire for ‘fulfilling work’ seemed doomed. Two days after I took a break from searching, a new, unusually-worded job ad for teaching (!!) popped up. They were looking for candidates with NO training, to start asap! On impulse I sent a long informal letter β not at all the conventional application! Within a week, after one interview, I was offered part-time college teaching in my area of study. I was terrified, yet it felt right to jump in and learn how to do this with the help of these people. Starting in was astonishingly difficult– and wonderful. Worth every jitter, as I had over three decades of an ever-evolving career with fascinating, challenging students among warm colleagues and good admin people. I hope to do it all anew in my next lifetime. That innate, intuitive intention to find ‘fulfilling’ work led me away from places that would not have suited me and home to where I was always meant to be.
One amazing way in which I’ve noticed life manifest itself as a result of my intention? My increased awareness. I really believe everything starts with an awareness. Realizing that you think/act/believe a certain way enables you to then take those steps to adapt and grow as necessary. My intention over the 30 days of health actually ended up shifting in the third week, but that was perfectly OK. As I was just embracing exactly what I said on day one. I recognized where I was at, had compassion and love for myself and refocused. My awareness of the need for all of this has been key, and frankly life changing.
Thinking of the question at first I did not feel as if one had anything to do with the other. My intention was my health. With all the hiccups these last years I worried all the time of every little pain I had. Face the facts, as we age a little pain here or there is normal. But being aware of my body made me aware of my mind and my heart. After another year of listening to the same review along with a knock to my personality, which no one has ever said a negative comment toward, got my resolve up. I have been offered other jobs over the years, however, between taking care of my parents, family, and husband, I was always worried. So now it’s just me, I am taking a leap, interviewing for a job that while not perfect is just what this girl needs. I have the confidence in myself to take this leap of faith and live a different life.
π Hooray for you!!
