🌎 BLUE ZONE INSPIRATION

Residents of Blue Zones, the regions of the world where people live significantly longer and healthier lives, share common dietary habits that contribute to their longevity. Their diets are predominantly plant-based, rich in whole grains, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and legumes. Meat is consumed sparingly, often only on special occasions. Additionally, these communities tend to avoid processed foods and refined sugars, favoring natural, whole foods. They also practice mindful eating, often eating their largest meal earlier in the day and finishing with a light dinner.

Research shows that an acidic diet, high in animal proteins and low in fruits and vegetables, can lead to systemic metabolic acidosis. This condition stresses the body’s systems and increases with age.

Studies also show an alkaline diet, rich in plant-based foods, helps maintain a balanced pH, preventing disease and promoting overall health.

Healthy Habit
🧘 HEALTHY HABIT

Today, let’s intentionally choose foods that give us life.

When you’re hungry, your body craves nutrients, not just calories. Opt for locally sourced, alkaline-forming foods like fruits and vegetables.

Include: Alkaline-forming food groups like fruits, nuts, legumes, and vegetables.

Neutral: Natural fats, starches, and sugars.

Avoid: Acidic-forming foods like processed foods, meat, dairy, eggs, grains, and alcohol.

I am nutritious

Inside every atom are particles, and within those particles is pure energy. Everything, including ourselves and the food we eat, is composed of energy vibrating at different levels.

Beyond flesh and blood, we are made of atoms—pure energy!

Viewing our diet through this lens reveals how the food we consume affects our vibrational state. Certain foods, particularly alkaline ones, can increase our energy and vibration, while others, mainly acidic foods, can diminish our vitality.

When metabolized, foods are either acidic or alkaline (reflected by their pH value). Alkaline foods (pH 7-14) are easily processed by our bodies, requiring minimal energy. In contrast, acidic foods (pH 0-7) are harder to eliminate, often stored in organs and tissues, leading to blockages and cellular disruptions, which can be exhausting and harmful.

An acidic body chemistry lowers our vibrational state, making us more susceptible to microbes like viruses and bacteria. These low-energy states signal the body is in a state of decline, attracting disease.

Disease can be seen as internal decay, triggered when microbes perceive the body as dying.

The uplifting news is that by improving our nutrition and choosing more alkaline, high-energy foods, we can reverse acidity and restore our body to a vibrant, healthy state.

  1. By surrounding myself with lively, colorful produce and whole foods, I’m reminded of the abundant life force in nature that I can invite into my body.

  2. veggie soup, lemon water in the morning 🙂 I have chronic SIBO (small intestine bacteria overgrowth), so by default I eat gluten- dairy- and sugarfree to avoid flare up

  3. I have decided that adding a fruit and veggie filled smoothie in the morning would be my most “convenient” way of incorporating more of what I need. I have started making them as my coffee brews.

  4. Recently visited an organic vegie farm and bought an entire treasure load of organic vegies -got home and made a giant bucket of salad – GIANT! Shared with neighbours and still have the bucket in my fridge. Take out 2 cups for lunch with a plant-based protein and then again at dinner but this time saute with cauliflower rice and beans. Meals are super easy!!!!

  5. I am vegetarian mostly and vegan every now and then, but I tend to get trapped by the carb craving and eat more grains and sugar than vegetables. What would really make me feel alive is eating a plate full of colored food! And it just happens that colored vegetables hold some of the best nutrients! So I will intentionally start including more color – reds, oranges, greens and purples into my plate, and try to reduce to a smaller portion, the whites and off-whites. I will do this by by planning my next day’s meals the previous night and making sure it is balanced, instead of waiting till I’m hungry and then going for the more convenient and immediate option.
