👁 INTENTION

Today, let’s put our intention into creating an environment that inspires creative and healthy actions.

Craft a sanctuary where your surroundings spark joy and purpose. By decluttering and organizing, we align our physical space with our inner aspirations, inviting clarity and inspiration into our lives. This transformation echoes within, fostering a balanced and proactive mindset.

Ready to seize the day with an organized space that nurtures your dreams and goals?

🌎 BLUE ZONE INSPIRATION

In Blue Zones, environments naturally foster health and longevity. People in these areas design their spaces to encourage daily movement and social interaction. For example, Okinawans keep their homes free of clutter, creating open areas for family gatherings and meditative practices. By shaping our surroundings mindfully, we set the stage for a healthier, more vibrant life.

💬 QUOTE

“You are a product of your environment. So choose the environment that will best develop you toward your objective.”

– W. Clement Stone, a successful businessman and philanthropist who believed in the power of positive thinking and self-determination.

🧬 SCIENCE

The science is clear: a well-organized space is more conducive to enhanced focus and productivity, making it easier to pursue our goals. By controlling our surroundings, we create conditions that support our success.

This study by Stanford psychologist Paul O’Keefe highlights that our environments profoundly impact our motivation and goal achievement.

This study on New Year’s resolutions compared to people who failed, successful resolvers were more likely to use a technique called “stimulus control”: keeping things around to remind them of their goals.

And in this study, researchers followed up with New Year’s resolvers seven times and asked which techniques they were using to keep their resolutions (and whether they were succeeding). Among 13 different strategies, including the exercise of willpower, keeping physical reminders around was the only one linked to success at every single stage. Participants who broke their resolutions cited the lack of physical reminders as one of their biggest pitfalls.

Inspired Action: Today, choose one area in your home to declutter and organize. Notice how this small change influences your energy and focus.

🧘 HEALTHY HABIT

Let’s align our environment with our goals. Think of your space as the container for your energy. A well-structured environment supports efficient energy use and inspires positive actions.

Healthy Habit Tips:

  • 🏃‍♂️ Morning Run: Place your running gear by the door the night before.
  • 📵 Less Social Media: Set your devices to ‘do not disturb’ during focus times.
  • 🥗 Eat Healthier: Hide junk food and keep healthy snacks visible.
  • 🧘‍♀️ Daily Meditation: Create a clean, calm space dedicated to your practice.
  • 📿 Be Braver: Wear a piece of jewelry that reminds you to step out of your comfort zone.

  1. The one thing I could change today about my environment today to have a healthier lifestyle could be to remove the T.V.
To me it is a waste of time to watch t.v. and do nothing. I would be able to read and spend more quality time with family. I also thing having a better schedule would help me to have a healthier lifestyle. Going to sleep earlier and getting enough rest in a huge one for me, I think that would change my lifefor the healthier because everything else would fall into place. Eating breakfast, lunch dinner, doing daily task in general, knowing what t expect nexy instead of being all over the place.
Also to mediatate more and find more things to be grateful for

  2. 1. I put my meditation chair in the middle of my bedroom, so when waking up, I will get reminded and sit down immediately before the train of thoughts enter my head.
    2. I procrastinate.. My drawing equipment is currently in drawers all over my new house. And my calendar is divided between my phone and in my notebook calendar. To achieve one of my goals I will organize these two things and make them accessible in one special spot in my house, so they are available and remind me my goal. Additionally I will collect sketches and print out images related to my goal, which inspire me. To live among special images, has been really helpful, (its something magic about visualizing) and which also reminds me that I love my job as an artist, that I am lucky to be able to live from it, and gratefulness gives energy to work!

  3. My goal for the year is to de clutter my home I try to tidy at least one small area everyday and throw out a few things without bringing anything new in. This is working well but my main challenge is my husband not wanting to throw anything out and still bringing clutter in. After reading other people’s ideas I will just make two specific areas for myself that are no go zones for others clutter. My office and relaxing room. These area will give me space to either focus and work or just relax.

  4. I just got out 3 huge trash bags to fill with anything that is not useful in our home. I am going to donate a minimum of those three bags today. Decluttering the environment to declutter my life… and hopefully someone else needs the items we donate.

  5. DECLUTTER a bit 🙂 I already learnt not to buy any trash food for home, simply because I’d eat them, but keeping my desk more organized will feel nice. I’ll do that today 🙂

    have a nice one!

  6. I can be organised in my personal life and the care that I am taking of my body. I already make time to meditate and give myself opportunities to rest/reflect and be in the evenings. What I am not great at is what I put into my body. So what I can change today is to proactively plan around that. Take time each week to meal plan, buy ingredients in advance, prep meals ahead of time, etc…

  7. I don’t bring junk food into the house already but I find ways to have french fries almost every day while I am out for work :/ I will start looking for different fruit instead

  8. My computer is maybe too easy to get to, but I cleaned my room recently so I can work out easily too. About my eating habits, I used to have cookies all around me because I needed some at school and brought back the ones I didn’t eat, so they were too close to me in my room. I started not to let them in my bedroom to be less tempted.

  9. I’m currently at school when writing this, but I think what can be organized is my locker and parts of the class rooms I’m in daily, my art room for sure Lol I love drawing and organizing that room.
