👁 TODAY'S INTENTION

Today, let's ignite our lives with a purpose that inspires us to leap out of bed with excitement!

Purpose is the foundation of a fulfilling life. It drives us, guides us, and makes every moment meaningful. When we live purposefully, we transform our well-being and outlook on life. Let's dive into discovering what makes us tick and why we are here. By doing so, we unlock our potential to live a more centered, vibrant, and intentional life. Embrace your purpose, and watch as your daily actions align with your deepest values and dreams.

🌎 BLUE ZONE INSPIRATION

Centenarians in Blue Zones, regions known for longevity, live with a strong sense of purpose. In Okinawa, Japan, it's called ‘ikigai’ and in Nicoya, Costa Rica, it’s ‘plan de vida’—both translating to “why I wake up in the morning.

These concepts not only inspire longevity but also enhance the quality of life by providing a reason to get up every day. Imagine waking up with a purpose so clear it fuels your every action, keeping you vibrant and engaged!

A senior Nicoyan woman relaxes for a portrait. After waking up at 4 a.m., she bakes tortillas and then walks five miles to the village to sell them. In addition to keeping hard at work, successful centenarians have a strong sense of purpose. They feel needed and want to contribute to a greater good.

💬 CHOICE WORDS

“Pay attention to the things you are naturally drawn to. They are often connected to your path, passion, and purpose in life. Have the courage to follow them.”

  1. They say people who write 3 things down a day to be grateful for usually are 25% happier and have less to no depression. When I visually take the time to look around me and see a everything I have to be grateful for it reminds me that there is a greater purpose and I am not it. I am only here to be a servant to that greater purpose. When I have gratitude things are more in harmony with each other and I see more clearly where my purpose is needed.

  2. I want to try and ‘book end’ each day. Start the day with meditation and a walk before work. Have a cut off time for leaving work and go home to do something non-work related, something purposeful like some gardening or work on my novel. To finish the day I will have an early night to simply enjoy reading a book, after reflecting on what I am grateful for today (including something I am proud of myself for). As part of my overall health goal, some of the weekend will be used for menu planning, food shopping and food preparation for the week ahead. Making these things rituals is the challenge 🙂
