NOTICING – observing triggered states

Today, let's explore ways to notice when we are triggered into a fight-flight-freeze state.

Noticing when the body-mind enters a state of panic creates this “power to choose our response” that will lead to our growth and our freedom.

Viktor Frankl

Austrian neurologist, psychologist, and Holocaust survivor

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.

INSPIRED ACTION

Ways to notice when reactive states are triggered:

😮‍💨  shortness of breath is linked to the body's fight or flight response as the body attempts to take in more oxygen and prepares to defend itself.

💓  the heartbeat quickens to prepare the body for action with more blood flow (resources).

😫  intensify feelings of panic, stress, and anxiety.
