MOVEMENT – HEALTHY HABITS

Today, let’s engage with the day in ways that inspire more natural and diverse movement.

Moving the body more doesn’t have to be complicated—take the stairs. Moving more doesn’t require spending more money at a gym with a trainer—tend to the garden. Moving more doesn’t even require spending more time. In fact, we can save time in a variety of way by getting creative with how to invite more movement into our life.

Healthy human movement is just transitioning.

We were born to move, literally.

It’s as simple as making a conscious effort to not take the path of least resistance. Convenience has been the movement killer of our generation. Without the decision to act in ways that require more movement, society will warmly invite you to relax into a 3-hour couch daze of Netflix binge.

Find what “healthy movement” looks like for you.

By choosing the path of movement, we begin to learn what movements engage and inspire us. Most importantly, we learn to move in healthful ways that work for our body type and daily routine. Soon we're craving those juicy movements. All the while adding years to our life and reduce the serious health problems that arise with a sedentary lifestyle.

Today, do something different that will remind yourself to move more; to engage more with the world around you through mindful movements.

If you already specialize in some form of a movement practice (e.g., yoga, tai chi, swimming) the today, your healthy challenge will be to seek out diversity.

In the words of Ido Portal, “Specializing is great – but beyond our specialties – we are all HUMAN first, MOVERS second and only then SPECIALISTS.
