VIRTUOUS – DEEP DIVE

The state of enlightenment requires moral excellence. A morally spotless person has a variety of virtues. These include being honest, respectful, disciplined, forgiving, and giving. Because of these qualities, a moral person is committed to doing the right thing, not the easy one, despite the personal cost or the urges and desires that might stand in the way.

Today, you will have a chance to reflect on the past year and identify one mistake or wrong-doing you made involving someone else. It can be as small as forgetting to reply to a text, ignoring a social media message, or not showing up for a birthday party after promising you would. When you choose your mistake, think of ways how you can make it right and take ownership of your actions. Maybe you need to forgive yourself first, maybe you need to reach directly out to the person you’ve hurt. Decide and do what you consider is the best for you.
