In our meditation today, (starting at 1 minute in the video above), we embraced the entry into our fasting journey with courage and strength. May each inhale fills us with readiness, and each exhale release fear. Let's have faith that our inner light will guide us on this transformational journey of healing and self-discovery.

Studies show that fasting can have positive effects on the body and mind, including better mood and mental clarity (Source: American Journal of Clinical Nutrition). Today, let's commit to observing how our mood and clarity evolve over this journey.

Fasting has been a topic of interest in both scientific research and various cultural practices. Here are some positive effects of fasting that have inspired me to embark on this 7-day fasting journey:

  1. Autophagy and cellular repair: 🔄🧬 Fasting triggers a cellular process called autophagy, which allows the body to recycle and remove damaged cells and components. This process may help in reducing the risk of certain diseases and promoting overall cellular health.
  2. Improved brain function: 🧠💡Studies suggest that fasting could have neuroprotective effects and enhance brain function. It may stimulate the production of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), a protein that promotes the growth and protection of nerve cells. 
  3. Reduced inflammation: ⚕️🔥 Fasting has the potential to reduce inflammation in the body. Chronic inflammation is associated with various health conditions, and fasting may help alleviate inflammatory markers and promote better immune function.
